Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Valeria L. Frank, age 85 of St. Cloud who passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Assumption Home in Cold Spring after a difficult battle with Alzheimer's. Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Entombment will be in the Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday and after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday both at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Parish prayers will be at 5:00 p.m. followed by the St. Cloud Veterans of Foreign Wars Granite Post #428 Ladies Auxiliary at 6:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Val was born on November 14, 1927 in Waite Park, Minnesota to Thomas and Lenora (Euteneuer) Symalla. She was united in marriage to Arthur M. Frank on July 19, 1958 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring and lived all of her married life in the St. Cloud area. Val was employed at the Cold Spring Brewery, Cold Spring Granite Company and as a school aide for Roosevelt Elementary. She was a member of St. Anthony's Parish and the St. Cloud Veterans of Foreign Wars Granite Post #428 Ladies Auxiliary where she was a volunteer for the Friday meat raffles for 20 years.

Val enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, trips to the casino and vacations "up north" with her family.

She is survived by her son, Mike (Donna) of Sartell; daughter, Shelly (Gene) Schramel of Cold Spring; four grandchildren, Callie and Jim Frank, Chris and Scott Schramel; two step-grandchildren, Ryan (Becky) Schramel and Katie (Tony) Zimmer; four step-great grandchildren, Luke and Brooke Zimmer, Sienna and Weston Schramel; and two brothers, Jerry (Jean) of Lakeland, Florida and Al (Donna) of Cold Spring.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Art on December 5, 2008; brothers, Tom and Math; and sister, Mary Schmidt.

Val's family would like to thank the staffs of Assumption Campus for their exceptional and compassionate care.
