June 4, 1927 - May 21, 2013

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2013 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in St. Augusta for Raymond H. Voigt, age 85 of Nevis and formerly of St. Augusta who passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at St. Benedict's Senior Community. Reverend Duane Pribula, Reverend Lloyd Haupt and Deacon Kenneth Rosha will con-celebrate. Burial will take place at the parish cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and after 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the St. Mary Help of Christians Parish Center in St. Augusta. Parish prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the parish center in St. Augusta. Arrangements were made by the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.

Ray was born on June 4, 1927 in St. Augusta, Minnesota to Albert and Trecia (Schill) Voigt. He grew up in St. Augusta. Ray was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. He married Donna M. Tresco on August 9, 1947 at St. Mary's Cathedral, St. Cloud. Ray owned and operated the Sanitary Market in St. Cloud, later he was employed as a Produce Manager for Del Farm until he retired in 1976. After his retirement he built a home on Lake Belle Taine in Nevis. He was a member of Our Lady of the Pines Parish, Nevis Trail Blazers Snowmobile Club and life member of the Park Rapids American Legion Post #212.

Ray enjoyed snowmobiling, gardening and woodworking. His favorite pastime was sitting on the deck overlooking the lake.

Ray is survived by his wife, Donna; Michael (Candy) of Cold Spring, James (Jackie) of St. Cloud, Loni (Julie) of Buffalo and Tom of Park Rapids; eight grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Bernice Voigt, Betty Voigt, Hilda Voigt and Vera Kutzera.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Art, Len, Frank and Elmer; sisters, Florence Koenig, Sadie Voigt, Alvina Fruth and Irene Lommel.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
