February 7, 1915 - June 18, 2013

Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 24, 2013, at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud for Etny C. "Nick" Nequette, who passed away on Tuesday, June 18, at Talahi Care Center. Chaplain Steve Yanish will preside and interment will be in the Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud, with full military honors performed by VFW post 428. Friends and relatives may call after 10:00 AM, Monday, at the funeral home.

Nick was born to Claule and Dessa (Maranger) Nequette in Stillwater, MN. He served in the United States Navy from 1935-1955. He married Jeanette Schoumaker on April 18, 1953, at St. Mary's Cathedral, St. Cloud. Nick graduated from St. Cloud State in 1960 with a Master of Science in Education. He then attended the University of MN, graduating in 1967 with a Master of Arts. He taught at Anoka Ramsey Junior College for twenty years until retiring. He was a member of the Retired Educators Association of Minnesota, the Navy Fleet Reserve, and a lifetime member of St. Cloud VFW post 428.

Survivors include his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Melvin "Babe" and Katie Bestgen; sister-in-law, Joanne Bestgen, all of St. Cloud; nephews and nieces, Kenneth (Linda) Nequette Jr. and Corinne (Bill) Thompson, both of Virginia, MN; Tom, Mike, James, John, Kevin and Greg Bestgen, Janet Reinholz, and Amy Parker. Nick was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette; brother, Kenneth; and nephew, Michael Nequette.
