Julius J. Guck, 84

St. Cloud

Feb. 10, 1929 - Sept. 7, 2013

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Julius J. Guck, age 84 of St. Cloud who passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Burial will take place with military honors at Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.

Julius was born on February 10, 1929 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Alex and Katherine (Schueller) Guck. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. Julius married Cyrilla Schramel on September 16, 1952 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring. He was employed as a Milk Truck Driver; he had his own egg route and later was a truck driver for Gold-N-Plump and retired as a dispatcher in 1996. Julius was a member of the St. Cloud Eastside Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4847, Waite Park American Legion Silver Star Post #428, St. Cloud Eagle Aerie #622 and St. Anthony's Parish.

Julius liked fishing, gardening, fish fries, yard work, and old time dancing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Julius is survived by his daughter, Shirley (Larry) Mayer of St. Cloud.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; infant daughter; son, Robert on January 23, 2013; and brothers Edwin and Anthony.

The Guck family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of the 5th Floor, Cardiac Care and Telemetry Units at the St. Cloud Hospital for Julius's care.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
