Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids for Earl E. Harden, age 80, who passed away Sunday at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center. Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, near Little Falls. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Sauk Rapids.

Earl was born May 31, 1933 in Creston, Iowa to Ivan & Lela (Blanchard) Needles. His parents were later divorced and he was adopted at the age of six by his step father, Leslie Harden. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Earl married Lorraine Estes on July 7, 1956 in Henning, MN. They have lived in Rice since their marriage. Earl worked as a forklift operator for DeZurik's for over 20 years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his younger years, old time and polka music, his animals, camping, and watching his son and grandson compete in quad/motocross and snowmobile racing. Earl was a calm and caring man who loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Lorraine of Rice; sons, Doug (Deb) of Rice and Duane of Rice; sister, June (James) Goblirsch of Redwood Falls; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Earl was preceded in death by his parents; step father; great granddaughter, Kayla Hoihjelle; brothers, Charles and Wayne; and sister, Betty Voge.
