Myron Elmer Randall Ayer, 92

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Riverside Evangelical Church in Sartell for Myron E. Ayer, age 92, of Sartell who passed away on Saturday at St. Benedict's Senior Community in St. Cloud. Rev. Dan Borgelt will officiate and burial will be with full honors at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls. Friends and relatives may call from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids and also one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. The Waite Park American Legion Post #428 will pray at 4:30 p.m.

Myron Elmer Randall Ayer was born on February 9, 1921 to Charles and Inez (Randall) Ayer in Sartell. He graduated from St. Cloud Technical High School and was married to Hildegard Gohman on November 25, 1952 in Council Bluffs, IA. Myron lived in the Sartell area for most of his life. He served his country in the United States Navy during WWII on a mine sweeper. He was a millwright at St. Regis Paper Mill for 47 years and retired in 1987. Myron was a member of Riverside Evangelical Church in Sartell and the Waite Park American Legion Post #428. He enjoyed bowling, wood working and playing cards. Myron was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors include his sons and daughters, Norman Ness of Little Falls, Gary (Judy) of St. Cloud, Dennis (Lek) of Stafford, VA, Deanna (Rick) Petersen of Sartell, Gean (Willie) Wiltgen of St. Joseph, Chuck of Sartell and Jody of Rapid City, SD; sister, Jane Leyk of St. Cloud; 22 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Hildegard; daughter, Janice Sabrowsky and infant grandsons, Michael Petersen and Taylor Ayer.
