Ann Bradley Brewitt

EXETER - Ann Bradley (Dearborn) Brewitt, 94, died on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, N.H., surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 15, 1922, in Epping, N.H., daughter of the late Francis and Elizabeth (Wood) Dearborn.

Bradley grew up in Epping, N.H., where she was a graduate and Class President of Epping High School, Class of 1940. Bradley also graduated from and was Class President of Bates College Class of 1944. Bradley taught languages at Milford High School for several years. She and her husband, Carl Walker Brewitt, lived in Exeter, N.H., from 1946-1973 where they operated the branch of the Brewitt Funeral Service on Pine Street. They lived many years after that at Hampton Beach, N.H. The family has summered in Wolfeboro, N.H., on Lake Winnipesaukee since 1955. She was always the boat driver and taught everyone how to water ski.

Bradley was very active in community affairs and was a member of numerous organizations which included being a member of the Exeter High Boosters, member of the Orient Chapter# 22 Order of the Eastern Star in Exeter, an organizer and served as 1st President of the Exeter Junior Women's Club, lifetime member and Past President of the Exeter Women's Club, member of the University Women's Club of Exeter/Hampton, former member of Christ Episcopal Church in Exeter, member of the Lane Library in Hampton, N.H., longtime member and treasurer for the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fuller-Covey VFW Post of Exeter, member of Strawberry Banke, and member of the Exeter Lions Club.

One of her favorite hobbies was playing bridge with the Stratham Bridge Club, and many years earlier in the 1960's, she participated in candle pin bowling leagues at Exeter Lanes. Bradley also volunteered many years at Exeter Hospital in the Medical Records Department.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Carl Brewitt, on February 3, 2009.

She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Peter and Margaret Brewitt of Kennebunk, Maine, Robert and Tara Brewitt of Punta Gorda, Fla., Nancy Jane and Carl West of Goffstown, N.H., and Mark and Debbie Brewitt of Stratham, N.H., seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and first cousin, Elwyn Dearborn of Saco, Maine and formerly of Epping.

SERVICES: Calling hours were held at Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter, N.H. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017, at 11 a.m., at the Epping Community Church, Pleasant St., Epping, N.H. A private burial will be in Prospect Cemetery, Epping.
