NORTH HAMPTON - Barbara E. Garvey, 90, of North Hampton, was born May 28, 1928 in Amesbury, Mass., and died Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

Barbara was the wife of the late Robert Garvey a popular Wilbraham, Mass., principal who passed away in 1972. Upon her husband's passing, Barbara enrolled at Springfield Technical Community College in Springfield, Mass., receiving a degree as a Registered Nurse.

Following her graduation, Barbara worked as an ER nurse at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mass., for many years enabling her to support her six children.

After her retirement, she wintered in Cocoa Beach, Fla., and spent her summers at Seabrook Beach before making her home in North Hampton.

Barbara enjoyed riding her bike, the ocean, golfing, and playing bridge but most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Garvey's family members include Daniel and his wife Melody, Steve and his wife Eileen, Christopher and his wife Terry, Neil and his wife Helen, Barbara Guglielmo and her husband George, Paula and her partner Chuck Fedelski; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

SERVICES: Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton.
