BOB CUTTS

I JUST HEARD TODAY THAT BOB HAD PASSED AWAY. WHAT A SHOCK.
MY SYMPATHIES TO ALL OF HIS FAMILY.
BOB WAS A REALLY COOL GUY TO KNOW. ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP WITH USE OF HIS SHOP OR EQUIPMENT
I FIRST MET HIM IN THE MID 70'S, WE WERE BOTH PICKING OVER SOME CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS FROM A MID 1800'S HOUSE RENOVATION, WE BOTH TOOK SOME TREASURES.
I WILL REALLY MISS THE IMPROMPTU VISITS AND ALL THE DISCUSSIONS OF ANTIQUES AND WOODWORKING THAT WE SHARED OVER THE YEARS. A GREAT GUY TO HAVE KNOWN.
I WILL MISS HIS VISITS.

So sorry to hear of his passing, and shocked it took me so long to learn of it. Mr. Lord was a customer at the local Woodcraft I work part time at. He was always a welcome guest, as he was really passionate about woodworking tools. He always looking for a deal, which was kind of funny in a great old-school way: He loved to dicker. He invited me to his shop in Kittery often, where I learned he was really interested in antiques, and had a wealth of knowledge he has glad to pass on to somebody smart enough to listen. I'm also proud to know that he liked me. I started a tool company a couple years ago, and he was always interested in how I was doing, and genuinely proud of me for making a go of it and making it work. That's what really makes me sad. He was so supportive, and the look on his face when I reached a new milestone let me know that he was a real friend. And he spoke so highly of his son, Nathan. And he was always looking for tools for him. Particularly a router table as good as his own. He talked about him all the time. And his wife, Frances, who occasionally came with him to Woodcraft. Here's a funny story--I was having a chipmunk problem, and told him I'd like to take them out with a .22. He asked me why I didn't, and I told him I had a bunch of neighbors that can't mind their own business. My next-door neighbor is always looking out the window. He laughed, and told me that Mrs. Lord once brought a letter out to the mailbox, and when she got back inside, a neighbor called to tell her she forgot to put the flag up on the box. My dream is to one day have enough money to open a vintage tool store where I don't need to sell anything, I just want a place for tool enthusiasts like Mr. Lord can hang out and swap stories. Mr. Lord was a kind man, and my life is fuller for having known him. Thinking of Nathan and Mrs. Lord.

Franny,Nathan, & Ellen
We are sorry to hear of Bobs passing. He and our Dad Ray flew together and were good friends. Up until Dads passing in June he spoke of Bob often. I can still see them sitting in the living room talking flying. And bet they are back at it again. Our thoughts are with you all.
