Dean Endelman Obituary

Dean Lynn Endelman

Dean Lynn Endelman was born May 1, 1945, and died August 19, 2014, of AML. Dean was a true Washingtonian, raised on Magnolia and educated at Queen Anne High School, Everett CC, and Central Washington University. In true northwest fashion he loved "tall pointy green trees" and maintained a persistent fascination with the weather.

He spent the majority of his career at Seattle Lighting and retired in 2007 to enjoy more time tending his yard, working in his wood shop, and traveling. Dean was happiest visiting the beaches of Maui or the family cabin on Whidbey Island.

Dean's last year was filled with many challenges; he, in true Dean style, stubbornly refused to follow every doctor's prognosis. When the 49ers game almost killed him (literally, not figuratively), he wanted only to know if he would make it to the Super Bowl. Not only did he get to watch the Hawks win, but he also went to Maui with the family one last time and got to spend one more beautiful Northwest summer at home.

Dean will be dearly missed by his wife Kennie, his children Kyle Endelman (Rachel), Kara Underwood (Travis) and his beloved grandchildren Thomas Dean, Paige Makena, and Parker Dean. Dean asked that his obituary include an endorsement for Initiative 594 that will require background checks for all gun sales.

A gathering of family and friends to honor Dean will be held September 7, 2014, at the Lake Forest Park Civic Club, 17301 Beach Drive, Lake Forest Park, WA from 2-5pm.

In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity or the Valley General Hospital Foundation, PO Box 1522, Monroe, WA 98272 in Dean's name.

Of course I'm going to miss that wicked sense of humor he had but also those wonderful Hawaiian shirts. Go rest with the big Kahuna.

Dear, dear Kennie and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I only met Dean once and he was just a wonderful gentleman. He was warm, funny and kind. He is with the Angels. Thank you Dean for your great endorsement!

Dean was a co-worker, a mentor, an ally, and a really great human being. His strong political beliefs show what a caring person he was. He is missed, but left an example for others to follow. I will do my best "mine Czar."
