Ruth Frankel
October 6, 2012, Ruth Frankel passed away peacefully 10 days after her 96th birthday. A loving mother, mother in law, wife to Joseph Frankel, sister to Lisbeth Okolica and an amazing grandmother and great grandmother, also known as OMA to her grandchildren.
Ruth was a wonderful lady. Born in Frankfurt, Germany in 1916 throughout her life she always found ways to be caring, generous and helpful to her friends, community and her precious family. Ruth showed everyone how to grow old with dignity even though she had numerous health challenges in her later years.
Ruth survived the Holocaust and married the love of her life, Joseph Frankel. They were married 68 years and Joe passed away in January, 2008. Ruth was an extremely supportive, dedicated wife to Joe and they really exemplified what the meaning of a perfect marriage was.
They had one daughter, Betsy Babani who is married to Jack Babani.
They brought 3 grandchildren to Joseph and Ruth and in turn the three children gave 10 great grandchildren to them. Ruth was very proud of her clan and loved them all so very much.
Ruth spent many years teaching at Herzl Religious School. She had a very strong influence on her students and they always remembered and often visited her during her later years while she resided at The Kline Galland Home.
We will miss Ruth, but we cherish her memory and the legacy that she left us, her family. She was such a dedicated mother to her daughter, Betsy and she was strong, committed, caring, and charismatic. Most of all she opened her heart to everyone who crossed her path.
