Leo was a dear friend from childhood. As an adult, I remember him as always ready and willing to serve when and wherever he was needed. He was a child's champion and rallied to their needs. We will miss you, Mr. Wesley. Gennell Hurd (Tacoma)

To My Childhood Friend Leo,
It saddens me to learn that I will not have a last chance to talk with you & catch up on all the missing years between High School to present. My childhood memories from Junior High School through High School were fond memories with you, Darren Lamb, and David Terry.
There was nothing about us that stood out in High School. We were just the average High School students….trying to cope with those formative years. But I remember one memorable moment when I thought one of us would finally become a part of the elite athletic circle at Lincoln High School. You had joined the track team, and were scheduled to run I believe the 660 yard dash…maybe the 800 yard dash at Lincoln Bowl. Regardless of which race it was…one of us was going to participate on a Varsity team. The race started, and you were leading the pack. We were jumping up and down in the stands, because it appeared that our buddy Leo was off to win this race. Unfortunately you ran out of gas short of the finish line and didn't place.
Disappointed we were, but you were a maverick and always found your way. I know we will meet again…so when that time comes….let us not miss the chance to renew our friendship. If there is a track team wherever you are, I know this time you will finish in first place. Win or lose I will be there to cheer you on.
In loving Memory,
Jesse Tyrone Wallace
