My Mom met Maxine when they were draftsmen (persons?) at Boeing. They became and stayed pretty good friends for many years.
We mostly live in Alaska but there was always a lot of traipsing around, family and friends connections in Washington, stuff like that.
All us kids did some hanging around at times when we were passing through, visiting, or whatever. I think it was Jo, that on one of the stopovers, she introduced me to Iron Butterfly In A Godda Da Vida. Maxine wasn't a small person but she loved her MG Midget which I also loved riding in too. I always really liked the Bowlins and the visits.
Anyway, My Mom is still alive at over 90. She mentioned today that she had a long talk with some other long lost friend and I suddenly had to ask about Maxine. Mom had lost touch with her some time ago. While we were talking on the phone I found this obit. Bowlins are good people. I thought I'd contribute a smile. :)

'Max' was one of my favorite cousins. My dad and her mother were siblings. I recall with fondness the family gatherings on Thanksgiving and Christmas days during my youth at our grandma's home in Tacoma. I admired Max because she didn't just 'talk the talk.' She 'walked the walk,' and got things done. In our later years, I looked to Max when I had a question concerning family members, namely, our ancestors. I will miss her. My condolences to the Bowlin family.

Dear David, Roger, Janet and Jo.
Your mother was such a dear and wonderful person. She always spoke highly of her family whom she loved dearly.
She was a very dear friend to me and my mother. I miss her tremendously as I am sure all of you do too.
Maxine, we all love you.
