Ella Mina Holmes Jones
Ella, 88, passed away March 20, 2013 in Apple Valley, California.
Ella was born August 23, 1924, at home in Pomeroy, Washington, daughter of Fay and Archie Holmes. She is survived by her two daughters, Cynthia Fay Skelton and Linda Kay Bingham, daughter in law, Vena Jones, and six grandchildren (Earl Bingham, Garth Skelton, Christina Torrez, Elaine Quandt, and Robert I. Jones, III) and seven great-grandchildren, Aiden Bingham, Cayla Torrez, Sophia Torrez, Ben Torrez, Ruby Skelton, June Skelton, and Elizabeth Jones.
Ella was married to Robert Ivern Jones for 66 years. "Bob", her husband, preceded her in death on March 2, 2007. They made their home in Tacoma, Walla Walla, and Seattle, Washington before retiring to Apple Valley, California in 1981.
Ella was very musical and sang in the church choir and played many instruments. She even had her own band in high school. Ella had various jobs but worked the longest for Pacific Northwest Bell. She retired as Pioneer Member with 29 years.
Her children and grandchildren were her life. She enjoyed sewing and beautifying her home. Her favorite color was blue and if the item she wanted wasn't blue she painted it blue. She took great care of herself and never varied her weight but by a couple of pounds. She had boundless energy until scoliosis really slowed her down the last few years. Bicycling riding was another great favorite and she did that every day until the last few years also.
