Anita Jane Yoder lost her fight with pancreatic cancer on Friday 10/5/2012. She was at the Providence Marionwood Nursing home at the time of her passing. She passed quietly in her sleep with friends and family in attendance. Anita was strongly support by many friends (Team Yoder) during her illness and they made many contributions to her well being and comfort during her illness. Anita depended on them greatly and was very grateful for their support.

Anita was born Feb. 1, 1943 in Elkhart Indiana to LaMar and Lucille Yoder and is survived by her brothers. Anita was in the Peace Corp in the Philippians after graduating from Manchester College and moved to the Seattle area after returning from the Philippians. Anita was a teacher for 36 years with 32 of those years with the Seattle Public Schools.

Anita loved the Pacific Northwest where she could enjoy her love of hiking, looking for mushrooms, wildflowers, birds, and being on the water. She had many people who visited her over the time she lived in the area and it was one of her greatest joys to show people new to the Seattle area the many wonders of the area.
