Barbara May (Lange) Anderson
Barbara May Anderson (Lange) was born on May 29, 1931 and was welcomed into glory on May 18, 2012. She lived in Stanwood with her parents, Orvie and Vera, until she was twelve, when the family moved to Everett. She graduated from Everett High School in 1949, and attended Everett Community College for two years. She transferred to Western Washington University in Bellingham, and graduated in 1953 with a degree in Education. While there, she met Chuck and they were married in August, 1953. Barbara taught first and second grade in the Shoreline School District and in Mt. Vernon, New York, while Chuck was stationed by the US Army in New York City. The couple has lived in the Pacific Northwest since.
Those left to follow are sister Nancy Newell, husband Chuck, son Dave, daughter Becky Barton (Joel), daughter Linda Aruffo (Sandro), son Paul (Marie), seven amazing grandkids: Sarah Barton (25), Anna Barton (22), Ben Anderson (22), Kate Anderson (19), Heather Aruffo (19), Jenna Anderson (16), Peter Aruffo (16), as well as a host of loving relatives and friends.
Bible Study Fellowship was an important part of Barbara's life for 21 years. She was a discussion leader in North Seattle, and Class Administrator in Mt. Vernon. Her quiet, consistent, yet outgoing personality had a positive impact on many for the cause of Christ.
In our family we don't talk about dying, instead we refer to "graduation". Based on the sure foundation of God's grace, Barbara graduated summa cum laude. Her love for her husband, family, friends and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was deep and unwavering. You are greatly loved and will be greatly missed, dear wife, Grandma, Mom and friend. Surely you've now heard those wonderful words from Matthew 25:21, "....well done, good and faithful servant."
A memorial service to honor Barbara's life will be held at 2:30 pm on Saturday, June 23rd at the Warm Beach Free Methodist Church (20815 Marine Drive, Stanwood). In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Bible Study Fellowship.
