Betty Rose Murphy

Betty Rose MURPHY Betty Rose Murphy, 79, died July 29, 2003. She was born September 1, 1923 in Havre, Montana to Ralph and Laura Barry. A 1947 graduate of the University Of Washington School Of Nursing, she pursued a vigorous career in Public Health serving the many communities of the Olympic Peninsula. In 1957, she married Michael J. Murphy and raised three sons in Tacoma. Until her death, she was an avid gardener and nature lover with a passion for travel. She was an active and long standing member of Saint Charles Borromeo parish and school. Preceded in death by her daughter, parents and husband; she is survived by her three sons: Patrick of Chicago, Timothy of Bellevue, Christopher of University Place and her brother John Barry and family. Grandchildren include Alexa Murphy, daughter of Patrick and Irene Murphy. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Charles Borromeo Church on Monday, August 4, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
