Carl Alfred Lee
Carl Alfred Lee passed away peacefully at home Sunday evening, November 25, 2012. He is survived by his devoted wife June of 62 years, his two sons and daughters-in-law; Steven and Ruth and Howard and Susan; 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Carl was born July 18th 1926 in Camas Washington to Sarah and Carl Elmer Lee, and later younger brother Sydney, made four. His life revolved around Camas until later years when he met his future wife June, and they married June 5, 1949. After a time living in Olympia, June and Carl moved to the Seattle area with their two boys and bought the home they still reside in today. Carl was a great storyteller, often recounting exciting episodes with his family about his life, whether it was working at the logging camps as a teenager; his service in the Coast Guard; being the first to have a fireworks stand in Bellevue; or his drafting and design work for Boeing's Stealth bomber or Lockheed's Coast Guard Cutter Polar Star. He had many stories to share. His family will always remember Carl for his wide range of interests and creative talents. He enjoyed woodworking; collecting and cutting beautiful rocks and stones; rock club and rock hounding; and creating intricate jewelry. As he wished, the family has chosen to celebrate their love for Carl in a private memorial.
