Carl S. Malnati

Age 83, Seattle resident born July 14, 1929 and passed away Feb 26, 2013. Carl was a life-long educator. He began his teaching career at Franklin High School, then served as Vice Principal at Rainier Beach High School and was the Principal of Renton High School until he retired in 1984. He is the son of Italian Immigrants, Maria and Carl Malnati. Carl is preceded in death by his sister, Flora and her husband Al Florence. Survived by best friend and wife of 57 years Mary Del, children Mike, Mark, Mary Lee and spouses Jenny, Katie, and Doug, grandchildren Morgan, Malia, Tyler, Ava, Delaney, and Andie, niece Pam and spouse Lew. He is also survived by his group of lifelong friends Hank, Milo, and Don and joins Tony and Hardy in Georgetown Heaven. Carl had been retired for almost 30 years. He enjoyed reading, cards, walks with Mary Del, horse racing and the Mariners and Huskies without reservation. His wife, kids, and grandchildren vow to perpetuate and celebrate his wit, intelligence and keen sense of humor, along with his example of life long friendships. A celebration of Carl's life will be held March 17 at the RiverRock Grill at the Maplewood Golf Course in Renton from 2 to 4 pm.
