Clarence (Al) Lunder(1938 - 2013)

Clarence (Al) Lunder

Al was born on January 4, 1938 in Seattle and died suddenly on October 24, 2013. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1955. He married Karen Phillipps in 1958.

Al earned BS, MS, and MAE

(Master of Aeronautical Engineering)

degrees at the University of Washington. He served in the U.S. Air Force as an officer on active duty and in the Air Force Reserve. He worked for Boeing as an Aeronautical Engineer for thirty-one years and retired in 1995.

Al was an avid hiker and skier and was involved in soccer as a player, coach, referee and fan. He was also a skilled bridge, backgammon, and poker player.

Al is survived by his beloved wife, Karen, and children, Erin Simkus and her husband Dave, Erika Sliwa, and Mark Lunder and his wife Pam. He is also survived by his sisters, Edith DeShaw, Ruth Robbins, and Frances Still.

Al will be missed by his loving grandchildren -- John, Amy, Jennifer, Alex, Danny, Serena, Brian and Jason, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
