David Edson Middleton

David passed away peacefully on November 28, 2012 at the Cottage in the Meadow Hospice in Yakima Washington. David was the only child of Edorn E. and Jeann Middleton of Selah Washington. David graduated from Selah High School in 1943. He then was inducted in the Army in 1946. After his honorable discharge he attended Washington State College, getting his degree in engineering in 1953 with Honors. After a brief moving period back east with his wife Carol J. and his 3 new sons they settled in Seattle to raise their family. David worked for 34 years as a Boeing Engineer. He loved his community and the arts that Seattle offered. He was chairman of Magnolia Arts Festival for several years, along with being a supporter of Seattle Symphony, Seattle Arts Museum and the Seattle Opera. He also was the driving force with the burial of power lines and poles in the west hill of Magnolia. He also took time out to be Boy Scoutmaster of Troop 80 while his son was a member. He was a role model and great provider for his sons and family.

David is preceded in death by his wife Carol and son Richard. He is survived by sons Jim and Curtis and grandchildren Andrew, Melissa, Alisse, Josh and David James. Veterans Interment to be held on December 31, 2012 at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 S.E. 240th Street, Kent, Wa 98042 at 11;30 AM.
