Donald Wright Hagerty
Donald Wright Hagerty, 83, born on January 4, 1930 in Seattle, WA to Helen Marie Berlin and Donald Wetzel Hagerty passed away September 15, 2013 in Bellevue, WA. Don grew up in the Kent Valley and on the family ranches in Montana. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1948. He studied agriculture at Montana State and later business at the University of Washington
. In 1951, Don enlisted in the US Army
and served as a Cryptography Specialist stationed in Berlin, Germany. Returning to Montana, he continued to ranch, rodeo, and live a cowboy's life. Don married Delores Louise Brown and lived in Browning, MT. They later moved to Seattle where Don worked as a manager for Fuller Paint before starting his own company, Crown Paint. Don and Delores settled in Kenmore to raise their family of four Rex, Susan, Bill, and Patricia. His career until retirement was as President and CEO of Ceiling, Interior, System, Supply, Inc (CISSI). Don most enjoyed time with family and friends. He loved the family cabin, home cooked meals, fishing, and crabbing. He had a quick wit, kind Irish eyes, and a knack for telling a good story. Don is survived by sister, Sharon Cutshall, children, Susan, Bill, and Trish along with 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by Delores and son, Rex. He will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be held Sat. Nov. 30, 2013 at 2:00PM at the Hillcrest Burial Park, 1005 Reiten Road Kent, WA 98030 with a gathering of family and friends following.
