Earl Carmine Yazzolino

Earl Carmine Yazzolino, 88, passed away June 19, 2013 at his home in the Seattle neighborhood of Ballard, Washington. Earl was born December 26, 1924 to James and Elva Yazzolino in Puyallup, Washington, the oldest of two children. He graduated from Puyallup High School in 1942.

Earl enlisted in the Army at 18 and fought in WWII with the Corp of Engineers. Earl married his high school sweetheart, Joan VanMeter, in 1946 and they had three daughters; Judi, Nancy and Gwen.

Earl spent his entire career as a machinist, 33 years of which was as a Manager/VP at Mamco Mfg in Ballard, until his retirement in 1992. Earl's passions were deep sea fishing and clamming at Westport, golfing, snow & water skiing, flying, dirt bike riding and go-kart racing.

Earl is survived by his partner of 40 years, Barbara Lange, daughters, Judi Yazzolino; Nancy (Ray Segale) Richter; Gwen Yazzolino; grandchildren, Amie (Tyler) Edmondson; Jodi Maisel; Elle Yazzolino; great-grandchildren, Isabella Edmondson; Dakota Maisel; sister, Marjorie (Ike) Eikenberry; nieces, Marcia (Mark) Smith; Karen (Jodene) Eikenberry; and nephew Jim (Elyse) Eikenberry.

A Celebration of Earl's Life will be held at the home of Amie & Tyler Edmondson in West Seattle on Sunday, July 7th from 12 Noon - 5:00 pm. Please call Amie at 206.355.4380 for directions. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ballard or West Seattle Food Banks.
