Irene Louise (Schlegel) Bevens

Louise Bevens passed away on December 27th, 2012 in Redmond, Washington. She was born June 3rd, 1925 in Portland, Oregon. She spent much of her youth in Boise, Idaho. Louise graduated from the University of Idaho, where she was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. After graduation she taught elementary school, and later became a stewardess for United Airlines. In 1949 she married Clifford Bevens. After attending the American Institute for Foreign Trade (Thunderbird) they lived in Trinidad, Venezuela, Brazil, Turkey, Thailand, and Guatemala.

After her husband Clifford's death in 1981 she moved to Bothell where she enjoyed travelling and golfing at Inglewood Country Club. In 1997 she moved to Emerald Heights Retirement Center in Redmond where she enjoyed nightly games of Bridge when not travelling.

She is survived by her son Chris, daughter-in-law Barbara, and granddaughters Catherine and Julia of Friday Harbor, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A remembrance service will be held on Saturday, January 19th, at 2 pm at Emerald Heights in Redmond. Remembrances may be made to the American .
