Janis Kay Hardway Wells passed away surrounded by her closest family on Tues 9/24/13 at 1:28am due to complications of lymphoma / leukemia. Per Janis' request, she did not want a funeral, instead a Celebration of Life event will be at the Ballard Elks Club
on Fri 10/4 at 12:30pm. Janis was proceeded in death by her husband Jim Wells, her brother Jack Hardway, and her parents Patricia and Walter Hardway. She is survived by daughter Amanda, sisters Linda and Patricia, brother Larry, mother in law Elsie, sister in law Judy, several nieces and nephews, several niecelettes and nephewlets (as she called them), & many many friends and family.
For anyone who knew Janis, you were her friend regardless of your relationship with her. She was the life of the party, always making sure everyone was having a good time. Her cackle was infectious and she brightened up a room just by walking in. You knew that the event or occasion was going to be better with her involved. She was dedicated to her friends and family, fiercely loyal and always willing to volunteer, help, counsel, or to just be there. Friends and family were able to return the favor during her last couple months as she fought hard to beat cancer for a second time. We have lost a true champion - but we will see her sparkle each night in the sky, knowing she is looking out for all of us.
