Jeanne Corbley Butler-Cooke

Jeanne Corbley Butler-Cooke, age 65, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at her home in Yuma, Arizona, after a long, hard fought battle against breast cancer.

Born February 23, 1948, in Spokane, Washington, Jeanne lived most of her life in the Pacific Northwest before moving to Yuma in 2002. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and beloved kitties, travelling, collecting antiques, and playing slot machines (especially when they were hitting!).

She is preceded in death by her husbands; Lonny Butler and Charles Cooke, her mother; Rosalie Foster, and her father; Charles Corbley.

Jeanne was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, soul mate, and friend. Her beautiful smile and vibrant personality touched the lives of many. Her kind heart; always open to others, and words of wisdom will forever be remembered. Her faith in God, her beliefs and her valued legacy, "Be true to thyself" have been an inspiration and will continued to be passed on. Jeanne will be deeply missed, but as in her teachings of faith, we know we will see her again. As one of God's angels on earth, she will now watch over us from heaven.

Jeanne was survived by, her daughters; Angela (Butler) Bracht of Maple Valley, Wash., and Devanie Hopland (Ole) of Renton, Wash., grandchildren; Makenzie, Triston, Alonna, Gwen, Owen, and Cedric, sister; Joanne Price (David) of Des Moines, Wash., brothers; Steven Corbley of Whidbey Island, Wash., Michael Corbley of Whidbey Island, Wash., and Mark Corbley of Whidbey Island, Wash., step-father; Roy Foster of Whidbey Island, Wash., step-children; Tim Cooke (Sharon) of Maple Valley, Wash., Wendy Miller (Jonathon) of Bellevue, Wash., and Ted Cooke of Maple Valley, Wash., cherished best friends; Carol Davis of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Shannon Daulley of Angel Camp, Calif., as well as nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial service and celebration of Jeanne's life will be scheduled for this summer. Family and friends will be notified in advance. Donations in Jeanne's memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, her favorite charity. Please sign Jeanne's online Guest Book at
