Joan Wittman Morgan

Joan Morgan 86, passed away on December 22, 2012.

A long-time resident of Bellevue, WA, Joan was always a "doer" and blessed with a full life filled with many friends and family. Joan Marguerite Wittman, born August 4th, 1926, was the 5th of 9 children, and grew up on her family's ranch in Culdesac, ID. She majored in music at the University of Idaho, was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, and was chosen "Miss U of Idaho co-ed". In 1949 she was crowned the "Lewiston Roundup" Rodeo Queen.

Joan worked her way thru college, playing piano in a quartet band, and later was a supervisor for the phone company. In 1952, she met her husband Irving (Bo) Morgan, in Seattle while working as a Pan-Am flight attendant. Married 60 years, they raised 5 children in Medina, WA. She was an amazing mother; with her special blend of child psychology, love and discipline. Joan was active in the Catholic Church. She played golf for many years at Overlake CC and Seattle Golf Club, and enjoyed twice weekly duplicate bridge games.

The past 23 years Joan and Bo spent their winter months in Palm Desert, and moved in 2011 to Pacific Regents, in Bellevue. Joan is survived by her brother Marvin, her sisters Ivora and Lorraine, her 5 children, Bruce (wife Angela) Colleen (Mick), Bryce (wife Cathy), Brett, Shannon (husband Greg) Komen, grandsons, Kyle, Bo & Quinn Komen and granddaughters, Ashley, Danielle & Makenna Morgan.

Joan was the most upbeat, proud individual you could ever wish to know. Her sense of humor, love for her family and beautiful piano music will remain in our hearts forever. We will miss her every day.

Services will be held on Saturday Jan 12, 2013, 1:00 PM at Sacred Heart Church in Bellevue.
