John Wesley Casey
Dr. John Wesley Casey passed away peacefully on August 1, 2013 in Seattle, Washington. He was born on September 16, 1926 in Correctionville, Iowa (named for a correction on the map) to Naemie Frederika Tuschaff Casey and Charles Clark Casey. John was preceded in death by both his parents and three brothers, Roger (Bud), Jim, and Russ, and two sisters, Lou and Aletha. He graduated from Cincinnati Bible Seminary in 1948, received his M.S. from Iowa State University in 1959 and a PhD from ISU in 1963. He was married to Helen Lucille Chamberlain on December 18, 1947. Together they had four sons, John, Terrence, Allen and Andrew.
John was a teacher for Otto, Iowa Public Schools from 1955-1957. Instructor, then Assistant Professor of High Education at ISU. Academic Dean at Pacific Christian College 1964-1965; Director of Higher Education at Oklahoma State University 1966-1967; Assistant to the President, Vice President, then President of Fullerton College from 1967-1976; Chancellor of the Seattle Community College District 1976-1983. He was President of Pasadena City College before retiring in 1987.
John is survived by his wife Helen, his four sons, 11 grandchildren & two great grandchildren.
