Kohae "Koke" Oda

Kohae "Koke" Oda, 87, passed away peacefully on March 20, in Renton, WA, after a short illness.

He was born May 26, 1926 in Ogden, Utah to Toshi and Naokichi Oda. He was a veteran of World War II, stationed in Germany. After the war, he married Ruth, his wife of 62 years. They moved in 1954 to Quincy, WA, where he farmed with his brother, John. He enjoyed sharing his apples and other produce with family and friends. His passions included fishing, casinos, seafood, his morning coffee with farming buddies, sports, tending to his garden, matsutake hunting, and most of all, spending time with his family.

Koke is survived by his loving wife Ruth and children; Stephen (Yvonne) Oda, Dennis (Lucy) Oda, Vicki Oda, Tracie (Roger) Kiyota and Gina (David) Suguro; brothers Sam (Kemie) Oda and Jimmy (Mary) Oda; sisters Chiyo Watanabe, Marge Kanno and Kiyoko Mitamura; grandchildren Libby, Greg, PJ, Kristin, Nicole, Lauren, Kelli and Zoe; great-grandchildren Evan, Jayson, Akina, Charlie and Tibo; brother in-law Kaz Kamaya and sister in-law Louise Oda. Koke is preceded in death by his parents, sister Carol Kamaya and brother John Oda, brother in-laws George Watanabe, Tom Kanno Tosh Mitamura.

Memorial service is Monday, April 14 at 2:00 pm at Bonney-Watson, 16445 International Blvd, SeaTac 98188.
