Lori Salzarulo

Lori Salzarulo passed away on February 10, 2013, at the age of 53 after a long struggle with ALS. Lori was born in East Orange, NJ, but lived in the Pacific Northwest most of her adult life. She attended the University of Oregon for her undergraduate studies, and then graduated from the University of Washington Law School. Lori joined the Garvey Schubert Barer law firm in Seattle in 1987, became a well respected real estate attorney, serving her clients for over twenty years of practice with intellect and compassion. She was also well known in the Seattle community for her tireless devotion to public service, both through her work at the law firm and her participation as a volunteer advocate and board member with a wide variety of public interest groups in the Northwest. Lori's other passions included travel, languages, dinner parties, making new friends and spending time with old friends, and a love for the outdoors. Before ALS robbed her of her physical vitality, Lori was an avid backpacker, cyclist, roller blader, sea kayaker and windsurfer. She is survived by her partner John Jamnback, her daughter Ava, her cat Jules, and her many friends who will dearly miss her infectious laughter, sharp wit, and beautiful smile.
