Lucille "Dolly" Barrett

Lucille, "Dolly" Barrett

Lucille, "Dolly" Barrett, born in 1917, lived most all her 96 years in Seattle. She died October 20, at her home, where she and her husband of 56 years raised their two daughters, and she lived for 75 years!

Dolly attended the U of W before marrying Charles, "Chuck," Barrett in 1938. In 1943, Kathy was born, merely days before Chuck deployed with the U.S. Marines as WWII began. In 1952, Sue was born, and the family was complete.

Three words come to mind when thinking of Mom...family, Huskies, and Disneyland. Dolly attended every Husky football and basketball game until she was 95! Disneyland was her favorite destination, where she celebrated her 90th birthday, with 4 generations of her family!

Mostly, Mom was about love, which she gave and received unconditionally. She always put her family's concerns above her own - the perfect mother!

Dolly is survived by her children, Kathy (Bob) Trimble, Sue (Lee) Stiles, granddaughters, Paige (Todd) Behrbaum, Jill (Bill) Gormley, 5 great-grandchildren, and brother, Dean (Barb) Verretto.

A celebration of her life will be held at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Mercer Island, on Saturday, November 9th, at 11:00 a.m. The family suggests remembrances to The Salvation Army or Medic One.
