Marjorie "Terry" Ruth Dixon
The family of Marjorie "Terry" Dixon announce her passing on June 18th 2013 at the age of 90, Edmonds WA.
Terry, a Canadian citizen to the end, was born & raised in Ontario. She determined at an early age that she
was meant to really LIVE life to the fullest, and she definitely succeeded! Terry and Don, her husband of 58 years , shared many kinds of love, especially their love of "trips"...they lived to plan and take them and forged lifelong friendships with some very special people they "journeyed" with over their years. Although seeing the world was a wonder to her, she enjoyed anyone and anything close to home that kept her on the go. The family spent summers at a cottage at Boundary Bay for many years, and her love for a beach was with her always.
Our Mum was, among other things, an incredible costume maker, furniture refinisher, painter & tile-layer, and one heck of a good cook . ..along with being a lifelong skier, she was an avid walker, hiker, dancer, parasailer, ferry-rider, road-tripper, playgoer and chocolate lover ...she was an all around lover of her friends, family and her life full of adventure.
Terry also loved her town, Edmonds, and had an enormous network of friends there. Always the life of the
party, she was up for anything any of them wanted to do, and they gave her great joy these last few years.
Mum is off now to be with Dad, who passed away 2-1/2 years ago. She missed him more each and every day, and although we are happy she decided to go out "her way", all of us will miss her more each and every day. She leaves behind 3 daughters, Lyndsey Barnes, Leslie McFadden and Lea Keown, her sons-in-law Keith Barnes, Rob McFadden and Mike Keown, her 5 surviving grandchildren, Aly Barnes, Joel & Jordan Swansen, McKenzie and Hayley Keown, and her great-grandchildren Joslyn and newborn Chase Swansen, who had a wonderful visit with her last month.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at the Edmonds Sr. Center (at the beach), and her family truly wants everyone who was a part of it to please come and join us.
