Mary Theresa Lytle
Born November 29th, 1958
Died September 22nd, 2013
With broken hearts, we mourn the loss of our dear friend, Mary Lytle. She died suddenly and unexpectedly at home on Sunday, September 22, 2013. She and her wife Margaret had spent all day Saturday together happily celebrating their wedding anniversary. She is deeply loved and will be sorely missed by the many people lucky enough to know her.
Mary was born in Los Angeles, California and moved to the northwest as a young adult. Mary was a great fan of the outdoors, mountains, camping, kayaking, swimming and gardening. She was passionate about music, an active member of the folk music community in Seattle; she hosted many house concerts and played the guitar. Her pets and other animals were one of her great joys in life. Mary embodied every aspect of community by how inclusive she was with her neighborhood and work community. A kind and welcoming spirit was one of the first things people noticed about Mary, she was such a loving, warm and accepting person. She was a peacemaker and person of great wisdom and compassion. Survived by her wife, Margaret, along with many friends and family, she leaves a huge hole in the lives of all who knew her. There will be a memorial service held for Mary on Saturday, September 28th at 2:00pm at the Center for Urban Horticulture in Seattle. Please bring your favorite food dish to share.
