May Ellen Houlahan

May Ellen Houlahan, 83, of Redmond passed away April 10th. She was born in Capitan, New Mexico February 11, 1930 to the late Robert and Julia Hale. The family moved to Seattle when May Ellen was a teen. May Ellen married the late William Davis Houlahan in 1952. The couple built a life in Kirkland with their 3 boys, Billy, Robbie (who preceded her in death), and Danny. May Ellen worked at the UW until retirement in 1998. May Ellen and Bill, were life-long Husky & Mariner fans. She was an avid reader, breast cancer survivor, voracious shopper, and loved large family vacations. She is survived by 2 sons, 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and extended family and friends. A memorial open house in May Ellen's honor will be held Monday, May 27th from 2:00 - 4:00pm at the Kirkland Congregational Church, 106 - 5th Ave. In lieu of flowers please consider "In memory" donations to the Providence Marianwood Foundation, 3725 Providence Point Drive SE, Issaquah, WA 98029.
