Michael Douglas McCullough, 55, of Seattle, passed away on Friday, October 12. He had spent the day sailing on his beloved Puget Sound with his longtime friend and ceramics mentor, Regnor Reinholdtsen. Michael was born May 28, 1957, in Tacoma. The lifelong resident of the region graduated from Sammamish High School in Bellevue. A talented professional potter and ceramics teacher, Michael attended Peninsula Community College, North Seattle Community College, and the Kansas City Art Institute. He was 19 when the Mariners played their first game in April of 1977, and their most devoted fan for the next 35 years. Michael married Jane Muxen on June 6, 1993. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Beverly McCullough, and is survived by Jane and their two children, Morgan, 14, and Riely Ann, 12; and by four sisters: Susan Cook, of Bothell (Ross); Debi Medley, of Carnation (Warren); Nancy McCullough-McCoy, of Victor, Idaho (Michael); and Marion Hamilton, of Gold Bar (Scott). He is also survived by four nieces, two nephews, and many good friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the or the .
