Nastasia (Nick) Turet

Nastasia (Nick) Turet

Nastasia (Nick) Turet, 68 years old, went to be with her Lord on April 21, 2013.

Nastasia was the daughter of the late Peter Nick and Olga Kapone Nick of Ohogamute, Alaska. Born and raised in Alaska, she was a faithful member of the Holy Orthodox Church.

Loving wife, daughter, sister, mother and grandmother, Nastasia would have celebrated 30 years of sobriety in 2013. A long time member of Alcoholics Anonymous, Nastasia was in demand as a speaker at meetings in Seattle and villages in Western Alaska. She worked as a Companion/Aide in Seattle and had many friendships, particularly among Elders. She particularly wanted to remember her friendship with Sadie Rosen of Seattle and Nellie Taylor of Dutch Harbor, Alaska.

Nastasia is survived by husband: Philip Turet of Norfolk, VA; daughters: Harriet Panik Anderson of Bainbridge Island, WA, Navis Radwick (grandchildren: Tanner and Holly) of Winthrop, WA; sons: Jacob Turet, Maurice Turet (grandchildren: Joshua, Kristen and Logan Philip) of Marshall. She is preceded in death by her son John Dell.

Services have been held in Marshall. Remembrances may be made to charities and causes of which she was most fond: Alcoholics Anonymous or Sundown M Foundation in Yakima, WA. The greatest contribution to Nastasia's memory would be a commitment to turn your lives over to the care of God as you understand him and to live a life of sobriety.
