Nila R. HUNTER

Nila Hunter was born in Fillmore, UT on September 21, 1938 and passed away with her family by her side in Kirkland, WA on December 11, 2012. Nila was raised in Utah. She attended Utah State University in Logan and was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority. She married Douglas J. Hunter on September 5, 1957. She and Doug ran a donut shop in Ogden, UT before briefly taking their family to Boise, ID. In 1969 they moved to Mercer Island, WA, and in 1976 to Issaquah, WA. Nila worked as a clerk and department manager at Looks Pharmacy on Mercer Island, and then Issaquah, from 1974 through 1996. She loved her job. The people she encountered daily gave her a great deal of joy and she considered many to be her friends. She was a board member of the Mercerdale Swim Club, Girl Scout leader and Sunday school teacher. Nila and Doug retired to Desert Aire, WA in 1996 where they were both active in golf and Desert Aire community activities. Nila was a member of the Red Hat Society. Nila enjoyed crafts, was a skilled seamstress and an impeccable gardener. She loved the Oregon coast and Hawaii. Nila was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her children Brett and Kelly, her sister, Nadine and brother Kip Davis. She is survived by her husband, Douglas J. Hunter, of Desert Aire, WA; sister, Leela King and brothers Scott (Faye) and Monte (C.J.) Davis, of Las Vegas, NV; daughters Kris Lamberson (Steve), of Spokane and Pamela Green (Fred), of Snohomish and her grandchildren Chelsea and Kat Lamberson, and Morgan, Taylor and Hunter Green.

A memorial will be held at Riverside Presbyterian Church, 519 Desert Aire Dr, Desert Aire, WA on 12/21/12 at 2:00, with a reception following at The Sagebrush Senior Center, 441 Desert Aire Drive, Desert Aire, WA. Remembrances can be made to Evergreen Hospice or The . Guestbook: www.Legacy.com.
