Raoul Nelson Lanning

Lt. Cmdr. U.S.N. Retired - Born Oct. 10, 1919 in Seattle, WA. Passed away Oct. 20, 2012 after suffering a stroke. He attended Lincoln High School and joined the Navy following graduation. Serving aboard the USS Tennessee in 1941, he was a proud member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. Always wanting to fly, he entered flight training and loved it throughout his life. He retired from "Ma Bell" (the phone company) and enjoyed the freedom to roam - lots of travel and many fun times with family.

Raoul is survived by his wife of 67 years Gini, his son Kris (Shannon), granddaughter Meg Rafanelli (Rob Scott), grandson Marcus Rafanelli, step grandsons Nick Achatz and Chad Bangs. He was preceded in death by his daughter Joan Rafanelli.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army or Gospel Mission.
