Richard Allen Bernard
After a long and fulfilling life, Richard A Bernard passed peacefully on Monday December 24th 2012, at the age of 82 due to complications from Parkinson's. He was born in Anacortes, September of 1930, to Alexander and Ethel Bernard, raised in Bremerton, and settled in Issaquah to raise his family. He attended Bremerton High School, and the University of Washington
, before serving in the Air Force during the Korean conflict
. After returning from the service he joined the Boeing company and eventually traversed the world representing the company in a career that lasted 34 years. In retirement Richard continued to travel with his bride of 61 years, Ursula, and showed a passion for gardening, flying, boating, painting, woodworking, and being on and around the water. He is survived by his loving and caring wife Ursula, their daughters, Nancy (Jack) Armo, and Melissa (John) Matelich, their son Richard (Pam) Bernard , and 4 grandchildren, Benjamin, James, Sarah, and David, and his sister Marguerite (Roger) Bennett.
