Dr. Richard W. Roberts passed peacefully into his new life Sunday, February 10, 2013 with many of his family members in attendance. A remarkable man, he put himself through medical school, graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Washington State University in 1953, and The University of Washington in 1958. He completed his internship at Doctors Hospital in Seattle and residency and post graduate at University of Washington Hospital. In 1962 he entered private practice. He later became Chief of the Mental Hygiene Clinic, where he served for over thirty years. He had a dedication, passion and consummate respect for his Veteran patients. When asked recently what he thought his greatest career accomplishment was, he replied, "I learned to truly listen." A humble but distinguished man, he is survived by his wife, Beverly; children, Jeanne and Mike Berg, and Brian Harding; grandchildren, Jonathan (Shannon) Berg, Kristin Berg, Kayla Harding, Lindsey Harding; sister, Elizabeth Miller; nieces, Kate (Ed) Sierer, Laura (Bruce) Kinard, and Barbara (Donald) Siegler. He is also survived by many lifelong friends, including school and business associates who met to play poker monthly for over forty years. Gentlemen, you truly were "The Knights of the Round Table." Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, February 18, 2013 at Holy Redeemer Chapel, 11824 10th Ave. SW, Seattle, WA, followed by burial at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Bellevue at 2:30 p.m. A reception will be held at Sunset Hills Funeral Home following burial.
