Robert "Bob" E. Graves
Robert "Bob" Graves passed away in his home peacefully on October 5, 2013. He was with his wife, Marcia Van Doren and his daughter, Jody Graves. Bob was a graduate of UW in Fine Arts, and a well-known visual artist throughout the Northwest. He was a professor of art at Wenatchee Valley College for 32 years, and the founder of Gallery '76, now re-named the 'Robert Graves Gallery'. He was born in Spokane, WA in 1929, and received his Bachelors degree from Whitworth college. He also worked as a display designer in Spokane and Seattle for the Bon Marche. He is survived by his wife, Marcia Van Doren, and his children, Jody Graves (Fred Manhart), Paul Graves (Becky Riddle), Mary Shemaria (Mike), John Graves, Lisa Fickel (Mark) and five grandchildren. Private graveside services were held at Forest Lawn, and a celebration of Bob's life will be held at a later date. Donations in Bob's name can be offered to 'The Graves Gallery' in Wenatchee, WA.
