Sandra was born in Ft. Lauderdale, FL July 17, 1937, to Roland and Beatrice Long. Sandra was raised in Florida and spent her childhood days fishing and enjoying time with her friends and family. She developed a love for travel and adventure early on. Upon graduating from high school and attending college Sandra became a Stewardess with Northwest Orient Airlines where she met and married Ray Welker who was a pilot. They raised their 3 children in Minneapolis, MN, Kailua, HI and Seattle, WA. In 1972, Sandra began a long, successful career as a Realtor in the Seattle area. She retired from real estate in the late 1990's. In retirement she split her time between her home in Crescent Bar, WA and RV'ing in El Golfo, Mexico with her then husband John Shreves. They put down permanent roots in The Villages, FL in 2009. Sandra never met a stranger. Her greatest love was spending time with her family and playing cards with her many friends, both old and new. Sandra was never afraid to voice her concerns when she felt improvements could be made to benefit others. She was the voice behind installing lights in the many golf cart tunnels at The Villages. John predeceased Sandra in 2011. Sandra is survived by her 3 children Andrea (Jack) Hooper of North Port, FL, Greg (Lisa) Welker of Whitsett, NC and Melissa (Dick) Matkin of Kirkland, WA. She is also survived by her grandchildren Adam, Richard, Christine, Dana and Marcus, great-granddaughter Evelyn, stepson Jeff, stepdaughter Sandra, brother Sam and niece Jennifer.
