Tamera (Tammie) Marie Berry

December 23, 1954 ~ March 13, 2013

Tamera (Tammie) passed away peacefully on March 13th in Seattle, Washington following a long battle with myotonic muscular dystrophy. Tammie was born in Seattle to Frank A. and Norene A. Berry on December 23, 1954; she was the fifth born of six children and her family's little 'Short Fat Fanny' as her parents used to sing to her. Tammie went to Saint Alphonsus from kindergarten thru eighth grade, then to Holy Angels. After graduating from Ballard High in 1973, she married and began her family. Tammie enjoyed writing, reading and family gatherings. She will always be remembered for her amazing ability to remember family stories, light hearted humor and the many birthday cards she would send to nieces and nephews that always contained $1, no matter how old they were. Tammie is survived by her three children, Holly and Ryan Tartar and Michael Berry, her seven grandchildren, Andrew, Lincoln, Olivia, Kennedy, Jazzmine, Zachary and Nevaar and great-grandson Drayton, siblings Barbara Jo (Jim), Frank (Roni), Georgie (Neil) and David John (Kathy), ex-husband Walter Tartar, brother in-law Richard Rock, numerous nieces and nephews and many extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Frank A. and Norene A. Berry, sister Monica and nephew Jamie Davis. Today we say goodbye and as you take your final rest; that garden must be beautiful because you are one of the best.

A memorial service and reception for Tammie will be held on April 6 , 2013 at 1:00 pm at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 5816 15th Ave NW, Seattle. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Please share memories with the family @ www.legacy.com.
