Victor W. Cohrs passed away 12-16-2012 from complications after a short illness 10 days short of his 86th birthday. He is survived by his wife Delores, his sons Vern, Lyle (Carolynn) and Lee (Jill), and grandchildren Michael (Briannan), Natalie, Rebecca, Joshua and Elizabeth.

Vic had a wonderful life as a husband, father and grandfather. Vic grew up in Chinook, Montana as the 2nd child in a family of 11 kids. His father was a Lutheran church minister who served many congregations in rural Montana. Vic joined the US Army in 1945 and served the USA for several years. Vic graduated from the University of Washington in 1951 and went into the insurance business. Vic opened Vic's Insurance Center in 1964 and was an independent insurance broker until his retirement in 1998.

Vic spent his time with the causes he loved. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Seattle for 60+ years and served as the congregation president and as a church elder. Vic was active in the Boy Scout movement including a number of years as Scoutmaster of Troop 177 in Seattle. Vic volunteered his time with two Washington State Cascade high lake fishing clubs, the Washington Hi-Lakers and the Washington Trail Blazers. He also loved going to a remote fishing spot at Charlotte Lake, BC each summer with his family.

There will be a memorial service and celebration of Vic's life on January 12th, 2013 at 1pm held at Messiah Lutheran Church in Seattle. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be sent to Messiah Lutheran Church, Chief Seattle Council - Boy Scouts of America, or a .
