William Henry Schroeder, Jr.

William "Bill" Schroeder, Jr., 88, died May 2, 2013 in Burien. He was born Sept. 27, 1924 in Hazard, Neb. to William Henry and Anna (Engle) Schroeder. Growing up on the farm, he learned his future profession of welding. Prior to serving in the Army during the Korean War, he traveled the country working and playing in the Schroeder Family Band during the depression. Dad married Gayle Almgren in Mukilteo in 1974 and after retirement they moved to Treasure Island. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, Sons of Norway and Grapeview Community Association. Dad was well known for making amazing kites and banners. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gayle; and daughter, Nancy Mauler. He is survived by his daughter, Gail (Larry) Duncan; stepsons, Pete (Diane) Almgren, Gunnar (Linda) Almgren; stepdaughter, Tina (Robert) Livingston; sisters, Betty Rolfe of Elsie, Mich. and Amy Mullally of Ravenna, Neb; 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Dad's life will be held at the Mason County Fire Hall District 3 on Saturday, June 8 at 11:30 a.m. Inurnment was at Cypress Lawn in Everett. Please visit www.price -heltonfuneralhome.com to sign the guest book.
