Yasumasa Akiyama

Yas Akiyama, beloved father, grandfather, and uncle, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2012. He was born on January 1, 1916. He lived a long, healthy life until a recent heart attack. He loved fishing, sports, especially baseball - he was a Yankee fan since the '20's, eating good food, and going to the casino. For the past four plus years, he enjoyed living at Merrill Gardens in Renton. The residents and staff were great.

He will be missed by his family. His son, Russell (Joyce), daughter, Holly (Bill), granddaughter, Valerie (Brendan), grandsons, Keith, David, and Todd. Also several nieces, nephew, grandnieces and grandnephews.

After his heart attack, he received great, compassionate care at Valley Medical Center in Renton and at Seattle Keiro. The family is grateful to all who helped him during this time.

Memorials may be made to either Nikkei Concerns/Seattle Keiro or Judson Park Resident Foundation's Benevolence Fund.
