Alice (Glavinovich) (Martin) Ehli

Alice graced us with her presence from March 13, 1941 until she waved goodbye on September 13, 2015. She was born in Nome, Alaska to Walter and Elma (Galvin) Glavinovich (who preceded her in death) and left in 1960 to pursue her education at Seattle University. She worked for the Shoreline School District for nearly 30 years and later married Peter Ehli (who preceded her in death) while adding three bonus children to the family. Alice was a strong advocate for all of her students. Long before the internet, she would sit at the kitchen counter and spend hours on the phone each week talking to parents and going over progress reports. Many of her former students have since become educators themselves based, in part, on her encouragement.

After retiring from teaching, Alice spent her time traveling with Peter, working at Ostrom's Pharmacy and Top Foods and had volunteered countless hours at Children's Hospital Bargain Boutique and St. Luke's Catholic Church where she administered the Eucharist to many home bound parishioners.

Alice leaves behind her sister Helen (Robert) Enyeart, her "blended" children Terry (Dan) Musgrave, Jeff Ehli, Doug Ehli, Sarah (Jon) Olsen, Karen (Erik) Engstrom, Michael (Jeananne) Martin, many, many grandchildren, her extended family in Tacoma, several cousins and her many friends at Children's and church.
