Allen Dale Anderson

Allen Dale Anderson of Shoreline died unexpectedly on May 21, 2016 at the age of 84, surrounded by loved ones. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Joan (Pagel) Anderson, his four children Deborah Darms (Robert), Kathryn Miller (Patrick), Gregory Anderson (Cynthia) and Randall Anderson (Elisa), as well as eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Allen was born on March 18, 1932 in Ballard to Allen B. & Elsie M. Anderson. He graduated from Ballard High School in 1950, served in the US Army and graduated from the UW School of Business. Allen worked in the banking industry for over 40 years and was a real estate broker.

He was a proud member of the Shoreline Rotary for over 30 years, serving as President, Treasurer, board member and he created the Shoreline Rotary Foundation. Over the years Allen was President of the American Institute of Banking, won the PTA's Golden Acorn Award, became a Certified Financial Planner, was a Board Member and Treasurer of the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce, and worked on many Seattle Public School committees.

One of Allen's greatest joys was spending time with his family which included attending their various activities, camping and hiking. He extensively researched his family genealogy and published a book about it. He was an avid reader and enjoyed wood carving. He was an extremely respected and cherished man by his family, peers, and community. He will be greatly missed.

Services will be held in the chapel at the Evergreen Washelli cemetery on June 8th at 12 pm.

So sorry for your loss. We had a great time as neighbors on our little cul-de-sac. He helped my family many times in the banking business and he will be missed. Our thoughts are with you. With love from Mom and I.
