Ann Bohart Obituary

Ann Henry Bohart

Ann Henry Bohart died peacefully surrounded by her family on August 11, 2015, at the age of 80. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Milton Hilber Bohart; children and their spouses, Corbin Bohart (Millicent), Langdon Bohart (Penny) and Kelly Riedinger (Ross); grandchildren, Kurt Riedinger (Erin), Eric Riedinger, Savannah Bohart and Mitchell Bohart; step-grandchildren Jacob Riley (Lakshmi) and Taylor Riley; siblings, Barbara Bender (Bob) and Chapin Henry III. Ann was born on June 11, 1935, in Seattle Washington. She graduated from Saint Nicholas School in 1953 and attended the University of Washington as a Kappa Alpha Theta until 1955 when she married the love of her life and sweetheart Milt. They settled in Shoreline Washington, and over the next seven years welcomed three children into their lives. Her children remember her as a caring and devoted mother that encouraged them to pursue their goals, filled the house with laughter and was always there for them, no matter the time, location or situation. As a loving wife, mother and grandmother she truly was the nucleus of her family.

Ann was full of love and loyalty which was evidenced in the numerous and special lifelong friendships she fostered throughout her life. She spent her extra time generously on things she was passionate about; Seattle Children's Hospital was one of her longest and strongest commitments. She served on numerous boards and committees and thoroughly enjoyed her involvement and the impact her work had for children in the Pacific Northwest. Genevieve Henry, Ann's grandmother, was a founding member of Seattle Children's, and set an example for Ann of the importance of philanthropy. Ann was a founding member of the Genevieve Henry Orthopedic Guild that is active and strong today. Ann was also a member of the Seattle Junior League, the Garden Club of Seattle, the Seattle Golf Club and the Sunset Club of Seattle.

At Ann's request, a Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 27th from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Seattle Golf Club, 210 NW 145th Street, Seattle, WA 98177.

In lieu of flowers, please consider sending a memorial in Ann's name to the Florence Henry Memorial Chapel in the Highlands, 722 N 145th St, Shoreline, WA 98133.

The family would like to thank the kind healthcare team at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and University of Washington Medical Center and the countless others that cared for her.

Ann was energetic, determined, (her take on anything attitude) and fun. Every memory of Ann includes the twinkle she always had in her eye demonstrating the fun she was having or the mischief she was envisioning.

She sure did love family and family events. Anne raised great children and told stories of them when they were young always weaving her funny sense of humor into them. She loved them dearly as she did Milt. We're ever grateful for our friendships with Corby, Don, and Kelly and the opportunity to know Anne and Milt, the wonderful people that raised them. Each of her children have elements of Ann that will continue to bless all of us.

We loved Anne and treasure the memories we have of times with the Bohart family.
