Axel Peterson Obituary
Axel "Ted" Theodore Peterson Jr. was born March 21, 1923 in Seattle, WA. and passed away on July 29, 2016 in Shoreline, WA.
After graduating from Roosevelt High School, Ted joined the Navy. There, he flew F-6F Hell Cats as a carrier-based naval aviator and continued with the Naval Reserves until 1953.
On August 16, 1947 he married Jean Marie Armstrong, a high school friend.
He worked for E.J. Bartell's for over 35 years, where he worked his way up to President of the company.
Ted, Jean and the boys enjoyed boating and camping in the San Juan Islands and Lake Chelan, surrounded by many friends and family. Crabbing, shrimping, fishing and water skiing were some of his favorite activities.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; sister, Ellen (Peg) Smith and his parents Axel Sr. and Ellen Peterson, of Sweden.
He is survived by sons Steve (Kim), Richard (Shiela) and Dave (Debbie); seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to a celebration of his life to be held August 27, 2016 at the Shoreline Elks Lodge from 1 to 3pm. 14625 15th Ave NE, Shoreline WA 98155.
